European Yakisugi wood

Eurosugi (European Yakisugi) …is made from the softwood species Cryptomeria japonica and comes from FSC-certified forests in Europe. The wood is deeply burned according to the “Shou Sugi Ban” (aka Yakisugi) technique, which creates a beautiful deep black coal layer. The carbon layer has a special crackle and has a beautiful shine in the sunlight. The controlled surface combustion increases durability and doubles the life of the wood.
